As a result of increased volumes of fraudulent/counterfeit electronics entering the supply chain, the SAE International panel, in reference to SAE AS5553 developed practices to identify reliable sources to procure product, assess and mitigate risk of distributing fraudulent/counterfeit parts, control suspect or confirmed fraudulent parts and report suspect and confirmed fraudulent/counterfeit parts to other potential users and authorities having jurisdiction.
